Volunteer In Orphanage

Nepal is the land of the Himalayas overwhelmed with outstanding beauty and inhabited by people whom you will find mostly friendly & generous. It’s not a hidden fact the country was through a civil unrest which lasted for almost 10 years, let alone being one of the poor and developing nation. Under these circumstances, thousand of people suffered with many of them loosing their lives and which left increasingly a huge segment of children to be an orphan. The exact figure of these children who had been adversely hit by the past conflict is yet not known, though an expected figure appears to be at least 10,000 being orphaned and more than 100,000 abandoning their hometown/village. Other causes like extreme poverty, domestic violence, social discrimination as well as lack of opportunities also forces children to walk out from their houses/families. Subsequently, their place of solace then becomes the more urban areas like Kathmandu, Chitwan. Thousand of children turn up into these cities more often looking for jobs and for a better life which ultimately becomes their comfort-zone too. Among them most manage to find work in restaurants as child- laborers where further exploitation is certain; a good number of these children also end up in the streets, whom are commonly known as ‘Khattes’ or ‘the street-children’.

For these children a lot is missing from their lives; at times even the basic things/necessities. To name a few education, food, health, safety & security, a secure home which they can call their own and where the can play and be contented. So far, the government is inattentive towards the protection or rehabilitation of these children and their fundamental rights & privileges haven’t been protected, too nor the government has come up with strong initiative. In these conditions, some concerned citizen have realized a need for orphanages and attempted to bring together these children providing them with shelter, food and education. ‘HHF’ is one such organization established for these childrens' welfare and aims to make a positive impact as a whole. Nevertheless, we always call for your warm help & affection for us to succeed. If your ideal philosophy is to help out any needy children and if you are inspired to lend a hand with strong enthusiasm, shower them with unconditional love, then this project is definitely for you. Even your small willingness can make a big difference and make a positive impact in the lives of these unfortunate children. The volunteering job merely involves just the small things from your side which you already have it in you like teaching them Basic English, helping out with their school subjects, guiding them on personal hygiene, taking them for small-outings, engaging them in extra-curricular activities and most of all giving them so dearly needed love & affection. This way, the children can benefit immensely from you and in becoming a good citizen in future plus acquire new skills according to their area of interest too; in fact they will discover themselves within you.

Overall, volunteering for orphans is the most memorable & soul-satisfying experience; you will be compelled to re-visit these children again & again.
