Bringing along a small gift for the host family will be a common courtesy though not required. But it can be pretty nice if you follow on with this trend. Simply a chocolate box or t-shirts from your hometown or some local post-cards can do the trick and light up your host family’s faces. If you areas of project are orphanage or a school then little things like pencils, pens & paper, art materials, construction paper pads, games etc. will be very practical. For the project, it’s the same such as some official stuff like pen, pencil, markers as well as local handicraft from your country will be a good idea
