Arrangement of room/food

We will look after all the needs of the volunteers – the room, food, and other basic requirement from beginning to end of the program. After the volunteers arrive, they go through some cultural and language orientations at our office in Kathmandu. They also get the geographical details of Nepal as well as ways and means of traveling inside the country.

For the real experience of culture and volunteering, the volunteers stay with the host family and eat the food prepared by them. Nepalis generally eat three meals a day and a cup of tea in the morning. However, a different schedule or meal can also be arranged if necessary. A separate room and basic facilities are provided. Separate or shared bathrooms are provided as per the need and feasibility. The food is generally prepared at home, the Nepali varieties such as Dal, Bhat, Tarkari, meat etc. The host family is chosen for their amicable nature and hygienic practices.

Volunteers working within the valley stay in touch with us at our main office and those working outside the valley can stay in touch with us trough email, telephone or through our representative whatever is found the most appropriate. They can also travel to nearby towns or other places for shopping for their needs. Similarly, the volunteers can also network with other volunteers nearby to meet with on the weekends and share their experiences.
