‘Tribhuvan International Airport’ is the only international airport of Nepal which connects this Himalayan Kingdom with the rest of the world via air. The airport is close & east to the Kathmandu city, just about 20 minutes drive from the central city area. It has the facilities like foreign exchange, duty free shop, souvenir shop, Internet, food & snacks, international or domestic calling service etc. All domestic flights within the country such as Pokhara, Lukla, Biratnagar, Bhairawa etc. also operate from the ‘Tribhuvan International Airport’.

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative/project-staff holding ‘HHF’ signboard, who will welcome you with your full name. They also bear some form of identification that you can validate and will assist you in transferring to the place of your stay too.

Usually, a ‘welcome pack’ is then handed over to you which contains all the induction of the country and the area where you will be now living for the next few months. The pack includes details of the local office, other volunteers, maps & other helpful information like banks, doctor & public transport. Further advice on local customs is also provided as well as assistance on what to expect & help you feel confident in your new environment.

After ending your placement/assignment, the responsibility is totally ours to again transfer you to the airport for your departure flight back home.
